With the festivities surrounding our 40th anniversary, we wanted to highlight the evolution of our equipment and, more specifically, our very first anesthesia machine. The device that gave birth to the name Moduflex, now recognized internationally in veterinary anesthesia!
1988
Our very first anesthesia machine! It was a design from a human anesthesia machine frame combined with components that we had developed. It was the first ”Moduflex”, as the name Optima did not yet exist.
1992
This photo shows the first series of “Moduflex” manufactured with our own frames. The absorber, which was called the blue absorber at the time, had been produced in a very small quantity, because a defect in the mold forcing us to go back to the drawing board. It was with this model that we started exporting our products to France with Centravet.
1995
After extensive research and development work, Dispomed offered a new absorber to replace the blue one. It is also following this intense period of design during which several anesthesia machines were manufactured that the name Moduflex was chosen as the name of the anesthesia machine line. This device was then renamed Optima.
2002
Many of the internal components of the device have undergone changes over the past few years. The most notable is undeniably the embedding of the absorber in the frame of the device. This is when it became the Optimax. It is also during this period that the machining department was created to allow a better control on the quality of the components. We manufacture 90% of the 300 components found in the Optimax on our own premises.
2010
The Optimax is now offered with many options, Coaxial or Compact absorber, wall-mounted or mobile, up to 3 flowmeters and cylinder holders, with a ventilator and computer support. We really have an Optimax for everyone!
Our love of aesthetics, combined with our obsession for quality and design, has led us to offer all our devices in a variety of colours. Since then, we are all smiles when our coloured Optimax are sent all over the world!
2022
After 2 years of work, we are proud to officially announce that our MRI veterinary anesthesia machines are now accredited with the MRI Conditional Certification from the Med Institute.
Our evolution does not stop there! We have been working on a new concept for several months. Yes, a new part of history will soon be written for the Moduflex line!
