What preventive maintenance includes

Anesthesia Machine

Verification and Inspection of:

  • Oxygen cylinder
  • Regulator and tubing
  • Delivery pressure of the regulator with and without flow
  • Stability of the regulator’s seat (creep)
  • High pressure circuit, including:
    • Oxygen flush
    • Operation of small cylinders, if equipped
    • Pressure adjustement
  • Flowmeter for:
    • Cleanliness and wear of the needle valve
  • Flowmeter tubing at the fresh gas outlet
  • Vaporizer
  • CO2 absorber
  • Open circuit (bain)
  • Gas evacuation circuit
  • Vaporizer concentrations


It will recommend that the vaporizer be replaced if the concentrations exceed the manufacturer’s tolerances (15 to 20% of the dial setting, depending on the model).

Installation of:

  • Components of the preventive maintenance kit

Visual exam of:

  • Physical appearance of the machine
  • Operation of the casters
  • Integrity of the frame
  • Cleanliness of the machine

Autoclave

Dismantle the autoclave:

  • Detect water, vapor or pressure leaks

 
Verification of:

  • Electrical connections:
  • Prevent intermittent contacts
  • Prevent malfunctioning of the sterilizer
  • Water flow:
  • Water change to verify if pipes are clogged
  • Operation of the overpressure valve
  • Control outlet
  • Temperature and pressure manometers
  • Cycles are normally working

 
With the help of specialized tools, the technician will take a reading of the electrical current used by the machine to make sure there is no surge. A second reading will be taken to check the amperage as well as the heating units of the sterilizer so it will be set at more or less 10% of the manufacturer’s recommendation.

Once all the verifications are done, the technician will change the parts that Dispomed Ltd recommends to be changed to avoid possible leaks. These parts may include the sealing gasket, the filters, the security systems as well as the control outlets. A final complete cycle will be done to ensure the sterilizer was reassembled correctly.

Dental Unit

Tests and verifications:

  • High pressure leak test of the compressor,
    the regulator and the filters
  • High pressure test of the water bottles and
    regulators
  • High pressure test of the polisher, the high-speed
    handpiece and the scaler
  • Of the proper operation of the water valve
    and its pressure
  • Of the appropriate water flow to the high-speed
    handpiece and scaler
  • Of the air/water syringe to identify possible leaks
  • Purge and lubrication of all pneumatic parts
    of the machine
  • Pressure adjustment of all hand pieces, to make sure they operate at the correct speed


Once all the tests are done, the humidity filters will be changed as well as all sealing gaskets of the handpieces and filters.

A general leaks test will be performed to ensure the machine was correctly reassembled.

Scavenging System

Tests and verifications:

  • Pull measurement for each outlet
  • Check the pull of the scavenging interface according to the power of the scavenging system.
  • Waste anesthetic Gas (WAG) overflow
  • Test the recirculation bag on the open circuit
  • Check for holes, bad connections, blockages or other problems
  • Test the recirculation bag on the open circuit


Cleaning of:

  • The quick connectors
  • Clean the scavenging interface

Microscope

  • Internal and external ocular lenses
  • Binocular module or the internal or external trinocular module
  • All 5 lenses: 4x, 10x, 20x, 50x and 100x
  • Condenser and the illumination globe


The reassembly of all modules and verification of all lenses to ensure their clarity.

The technician will adjust the gearing system of the X and Y tray.

Adjustment and lubrication of the focus
mechanism.

All lens and condensers will be centered.

Centrifuges

Tests and verifications:

  • The centrifuge motor
  • Mechanical parts for damage and distortion
  • Centrifuge performance
