It is not recommended to use standard masking tape for your packages to sterilize in the autoclave. Since there are many brands and therefore a very different component list, this can cause many problems. Your package may open during the autoclave cycle, the masking tape may not be able to withstand heat and therefore melt causing an important amount of deposit in your autoclave chamber. For this reason, we recommend using only autoclave tape that is tested for use in high temperatures and pressures.
